Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior General Accountant for Nespresso based at our Montreal office reporting into the Accounting Manager. This role will assist Accounting Manager in the delivery of accurate financial reporting.

A day in the life of...

  • Assist accounting manager in document submission and analysing complex financial information;
  • In collaboration with Accounting Manager, understand the new IFRS standards and their application by assessing the operational impact to systems, processes and financial statements;
  • Develop procedures to improve efficiency and ensure compliance;
  • Report accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department;
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly revision of balance sheet account to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance;
  • Analyse financial statements for discrepancies and other issues on accounts under his or her responsibility that should be brought to the Accounting Manager attention;
  • Act as subject matter expert for finance on transactions related to FA or Inventory and provide training / guidance / advice and recommendation to various stakeholders from Market and Nestle Business Solution;
  • Coordinate and participate in the implementation of required changes following the assessment;
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax requirements and reporting.
  • What will make you successful

    As the successful candidate, you will have superior communication skills, including excellent written and communication skills with an in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. You will also have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) a requirement
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a related area
  • Good knowledge of IFRS
  • Good knowledge in taxation
  • Experience with a range of ERP systems an asset
  • Proficiency in English and French, both spoken and written
