Proposal Coordinator

As our new Proposal Coordinator, you will ensure that all of Walker Environmental’s proposals are fully executed from start to finish. Your major responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying proposal opportunities by sourcing proposal/tender requests in Ontario, western Canada and the United States through web searches and interaction with the sales team and customers (municipal/provincial governments, private sector agencies)
  • Reviewing and assessing requests for tenders/proposals to determine if they are consistent with our strategic direction
  • Coordinating the proposal process by developing proposal/tender response schedules, QA/QC programs and risk assessment plans.
  • Preparing follow-up materials (responses to questions, presentation materials)
  • Preparing project schedules
  • Communicating status throughout process to key stakeholders
  • Creating and editing proposal/tender documents by writing technical and non-technical sections of the proposal
  • Obtaining required bonding and insurance certificates and arranging legal review as required.
  • Ensuring timely preparation and submission of all proposals and tenders by assembling and submitting documents and tracking and communicating all decisions.

    • Qualifications:

  • Above average competence with MS Office Suite of products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint to produce documents, reports, presentations and newsletters as required.
  • Post-secondary education with a degree or certificate in business or related field is required. Additional courses in environmental management would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality standards relative to proposals
  • Demonstrated numeric skills to produce accurate tender/proposal estimates and project budget costs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient organization skills to plan and prioritize long term projects.
  • Adaptable – able to set and prioritize work, able to work with diverse personalities and style.
