The Molson Coors Beverage Company is looking for an Occupational Health and Safety Nurse/Plant Nurse to join our Toronto Brewery location. In this role the incumbent will primarily lead the on-site Health Centre which includes providing medical care to associates, managing the WI / WSIB claims and modified work programs. This role is a unionized position part of the UFCW Local 175 bargaining unit.
The Responsibilities Managing the on-site employee Health Centre and identifying the health needs of employees Providing primary care and initial response to accidents, counselling, and referrals A high frequency of Case Management of STD, WSIB, and LTD claims; this will include supporting the brewery to manage WSIB costs and exposure. Assisting in the development and improvement of Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures Leading the planning and execution of our plantwide occupational surveillance programs (i.e. Hearing Conservation, Asbestos, Silica etc.). Coordinating modified return to work programs collaboratively with managers and employees. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this role will lead our Company exposure assessments and return to work processes of employees in quarantine. Procuring supplies including medications, First-aid, and Personal Protective Equipment Investigating and resolving Health and Safety issues and implementing initiatives Working as a Member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee
The Qualifications Working knowledge of pertinent legislation (OH&S, Human Rights, and WSIB legislation) Strong problem solving, decision-making, and analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented individual that is capable of effectively multi-tasking Strong leadership, planning and multi-tasking abilities Ability to work under pressure and adaptable to change Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse designation is a mandatory requirement Certified Return to Work Coordinator and/or Certified Occupational Health Nurse Current First Aid and CPR certification Training and experience in Occupational Health in a manufacturing/production environment is considered a strong asset. Intermediate level Microsoft Office
