Responsibilities: Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements Make detailed sketches and field decisions for pipe and equipment fabrication and installation Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines Select type and size of pipe required Join pipe sections, related equipment and secure in position Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fibreglass pipe, valves and fittings required Install supports, valves, piping and control systems Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks, hydro and pneumatic Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings Troubleshoot and repair reported problems Remove and replace worn components Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems Proficient in the use of hand tools such as grinders, drills, torches, etc. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations Follow Phoenix Industrial and Client policies and procedures Complete daily paperwork Provide guidance, direction and supervision to apprentices General maintenance work Operate radios and other communication equipment Contribute to tool box meetings Adheres to Phoenix Industrial and Client policies and procedures Conduct regular worksite inspections to monitor workmanship and safety compliance Managing and performing general house keeping and daily clean-up of work area Perform other duties as required Lead by example by demonstrating the importance of fostering a safety culture
