This role within the organization is responsible for the technology service delivery for the GTO International Business Units, supporting multiple products within it. The role will be part of a team leading a significant program of work and ongoing service to both external and internal clients in a fast paced, multi-client, multi-product, financial services environment with both in-sourced and outsourced IT services.You will be focused on improving service reliability, performance and operability of Services. You will have your hand on the pulse of the service and will play a key role in troubleshooting and resolving service issues. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to create future automation and tooling that will allow us to continuously improve our service. Your role in driving improvements in availability, effort and velocity will delight our customers with and while reducing costs of Operations

Technology Management

  • Administration & Maintenance of AWS environments as it pertains to the products you support
  • Oversight and in-depth knowledge of High Availability, Disaster recovery, diagnostics & forensics, troubleshooting, vulnerability management, patching, incident management, problem management, change management in a technology role
  • Ability to engage internal and external 3rd Party/Vendors for support
  • Act as an escalation point for technical issues pursuant within the Technology Services team. Ability to lead Performance troubleshooting and capacity planning efforts
  • Work with system hardware vendors for ongoing support issues, release schedules, and general system administration issues
  • Technical understanding of OS, Network, Storage and Databases in large datacenter environments including firewall, anti-virus, proxy, file transfer, and other enterprise-wide software
  • Administration and Monitoring of the IT infrastructure including backup solutions
  • Support of new client project related requests working closely with Project Managers, Product Management, Development, and Pre-Sales teams
  • Effectively manage and coordinate work efforts and critical activities from external service providers (data center and network providers) and internal technology teams through resolving issues, concerns or constraints and appropriately escalating to ensure activities stay on track
  • Develop best practices and operating procedures to support sustained operational efficiency
  • Service Management

  • Ability to align with and directly service, internal business units, and external clients
  • Ability to directly interact with business unit executives and project management to communicate operational status, key project status, and business value of services produced
  • Manage the service to external clients against a pre-defined responsibility matrix
  • Ability to innovate and constantly improve efficiencies and reduce incidents
  • Track record of success in a matrix organization.
  • SLA Management

  • Ensure SLA and operational effectiveness are achieved on a daily basis for products managed by third-party data center provider and internal support teams leveraging resources and leadership within these organizations assigned to support these products
  • Pro-actively address issues to avoid any problems reoccurring without creating undue layers of process or complexity
  • Organization

  • Establish a high sense of urgency, customer-orientation, and a clear definition of functional excellence in infrastructure operations
  • At a project and team level, manage and own workload and resource management for the IT book of work
  • Capability to work with onshore and offshore resources in a way that drives efficiency while meeting objectives
  • Risk Management

  • Maintain a strong controls environment, carrying about quality, and being responsive to the risks across all aspects of technology
  • Drive compliance and controls to meet internal and external audit requirements
  • Disaster Recovery and BCP

  • Contribute as required to the design and execution of the enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan
  • Plan and execute DR test events to meet internal and external obligations
  • Experience with Unix and/or Cloud-based solutions such as AWS or Azure
  • Strong Technical background with an ability to troubleshoot issues impacting large scale service architectures and application stacks
  • Knowledge of system platforms (ie Virtualization, storage, IBM WebSphere MQ, Database technologies, file transfer protocols, encryption, certificates, Proxy, Fortigate firewalls)
  • Relevant experience, including data center and network operations, storage, telecommunications and 24x7 operations
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux, Linux services, and Linux networking
  • Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Git, Jenkins
  • Demonstrates an ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
  • Ability to work with cross functional project teams implementing projects of a complex nature.
  • Strong upward communication and capability to communicate effectively
  • Prior experience working within a matrixed managed organization, across multiple time zones
  • Client-oriented individual with an enthusiasm to transform the platform
