About the Position

Job DescriptionBookkeeper/Sales Administrator – NewStar Marine & ScooterJob DescriptionSeeking an energetic, detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Sales Administrator to help provide accurate financial statements and effective sales support for our growing retail business! We are in our 8th year of operation selling and servicing power sports products such as custom pontoons, inflatable boats, outboard motors, and trailers as well as a line of electric bikes and scooters in the exploding “electric transportation” market. Our product lines serve a variety of customers’ recreational needs making it a dynamic and fun-related environment in which to work. We value great customer service and reward integrity and hard work.This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and flexible hours. Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):Bookkeeping (60%); inventory management (30%); sales support, spreadsheets and administration (10%)Generate monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports for 3 companiesManage accounts receivable accounts payable, payroll, CRA remittances, journal entries, preparing bank and credit card reconciliations, and year-end files for external accountantWork directly with management to assist in cash flow management and financial decision makingWork effectively with staff to manage inventory controlClerical duties including photocopying, scanning, and filingCreate excel spreadsheets to help analyze sales trends and performanceMay be required to assist in processing sales transactions during heavy customer traffic or peak selling periodsCandidates selected for interviews will be contacted.

Qualifications

Skills required:A minimum of 2 years of experience in full-cycle accountingStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and best practices for a small to medium size businessExcellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-taskProficient in Sage Software, Quick sale and ExcelExperience with retail POS systems an assetAbility to work independently and be part of a team.Exceptional oral and written communication skillsWillingness to learn and improve processesWillingness to do customer service and sales support during peak selling periods, as part of the team.Formal accounting/bookkeeping Education is an asset.
