OVERVIEW:

The IT Enterprise Business Systems team is responsible for all business systems at OpenText. We are seeking a talented developer who is a self-starter and capable of learning new technologies quickly to join our web technology team. The successful candidate will work closely with our internal customers and will be responsible for both new development and maintenance support within our content management systems.

The web team is responsible for many web site implementations at OpenText including our www.opentext.com site. Our business solution utilizes OpenText’s software to power of many of our web technologies including TeamSite/LiveSite, Media Manager, Web Experience Management (WEM), Portal and Content Server. This position involves being part of a dynamic team environment responsible for designing, developing, and supporting software solutions to meet business requirements in the areas of Sales, Marketing, Customer Support and Services.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Interact with Business representatives to ensure their requirements are being met
  • Translate business requirements into functional/technical requirements working within the framework of the tools available.
  • Provide design estimates as input to project management
  • Develop solutions to meet the business requirements while meeting time and cost constraints
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle (requirements, design, code, unit test, implementation)
  • Adhere to IT Change Management and best practices
  • Investigate and fix advanced (3rd level) application issues
  • Participate in the migration of data from acquired systems into OpenText systems
  • Contribute to the evaluation/execution of system upgrades

    • WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Exposure to content management systems such as TeamSite/LiveSite and MediaManagement software is a must.
  • 5+ years’ experience web application development, configuring, and interacting with business users refining requirements and discuss functional/technical designs
  • Experience developing and working with Web Services (RESTful and/or SOAP)
  • Development experience in languages including MS .NET, C#, Java
  • Solid foundation working with HTML5, XML, CSS3, Servlets, JavaScript and JQuery
  • Development experience working with Microsoft SQL, MySQL and/or Oracle PL-SQL
  • Experience in the configuration and development of OpenText solutions
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, Vue JS
  • Familiarity with server-side languages such as PHP
  • Familiarity with Microsoft IIS, Apache, Tomcat
  • Experience working within several successful timely delivered projects involving multi-national application deployments at a level of technical leader
  • Experience working in engagements involving detailed troubleshooting and performance tuning
  • Experience at administrator level knowledge of Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems
  • Experience in analyzing or debugging (Windows -logs, Java debugging, Browser debugging).
  • Basic Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, HTTP/s, Firewalls)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to handle multiple streams of work effectively
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
