About the role:

Reporting to the Director, Customer Operations and inline with our vision to Simplify, Grow and Empower, Manager, Business Intelligence will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maintain a high level of commercial intensity by partnering with functions and business units across BD-Canada to meet and exceed all growth targets. They will drive salesforce efficiency, excellence in data analytic and insights and master data management to achieve the BD2025 vision. This individual will develop robust customer insights to direct organization wide transformational activities in BD-Canada that will increase customer dedication and provide sustainable competitive advantage. This manager role will partner with Finance, Human Resources and Business Unit leaders to set accurate targets, provide stringent tracking measurement and timely associate pay-outs. The Manager, Business Intelligence will be responsible to lead our Growth Mindset culture through associate training, coaching and on-going development to continue building the data analytics capability at BD-Canada. This person will be responsible for building a strong alignment with counterparts on the US Region Commercial Operations team to improve efficiencies through sharing and collaboration on innovative and strategic resource solutions and project management.

Key responsibilities will include:

Customer Insight Development

  • Generate fact-based customer insights based on robust qualitative and quantitative data to assist the organization in identifying and prioritizing opportunities and competitive wins.
  • Develop and maintain accurate customer information and data to provide critical foundation to salesforce excellence insights and customer account management.
  • Strategy Development

  • Based on market intelligence, fact-based customer insights, peer and competitive benchmarking the person in this role will contribute to the development of the organizational strategy to drive customer dedication and preference for BD.
  • The role will be responsible for the development of annual strategies for the Sales Operations, Customer Intelligence and Master Data team to drive improvement initiatives related to business processes, go-to-market strategies, functional transformations to meet Key Performance Metrics.
  • Provide senior leadership consultation surrounding future business opportunities and measurement of profitability and cost saving measures.
  • Leading Organizational and Process Change

  • The Manager, Business Intelligence is responsible for the alignment of all BUs to sales operation, compensation and targeting processes.
  • The role will directly manage projects and cross-functional teams and be accountable for deliverables related to maximizing organization commercial intensity objectives through salesforce effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with global counterparts to identify efficiencies and transition processes to shared service model as appropriate.
  • Customer Metric Development and Measurement

  • The Manager, Business Intelligence will lead a team of analysts to partner with BUs in providing key insights to maximize RFP opportunities through strategic development of innovative and strategic pricing solutions.
  • Bring expert level ability to synthesize multiple sophisticated data sets and derive measurable intelligence.
  • Standardize regional master data to align with global framework.
  • Associate Education and Development

  • The Manager, Business Intelligence will be responsible for providing associate training and coaching by delivering curriculum to drive and develop a best in class analytics capability across the team and deliver a competitive advantage in the Canadian marketplace.
  • Investment in Career Blueprint and Development plans to support annual Performance Management Process and associate career progression.
  • Brand Strategy

  • Create comprehensive branding inclusive of Sales Operations, Customer Intelligence and Master Data to drive consistency and recognition of team outputs with internal partners.
  • About you:

  • Demonstrated cross functional leadership capabilities
  • Experience leading within a business matrix an asset
  • Strong analytical skills, financial acumen and exceptional presentation ability
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization
  • Experience in strategy development, organizational transformation and managing internal budgets.
  • Must be extremely customer-focused and aligned to BD Leadership Values
  • Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor Degree (4 year) Business, Finance, Data Science
  • Graduate Degree or MBA desirable
  • Minimum 2-3 years of people leadership experience is a requirement to be considered for this role.
  • At least 10 years of business experience in a variety of cross-functional and customer related roles (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations or other proven experience).
