Description:

We are seeking a Business Manager within the construction industry (electrical division). In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, direction, supervision and coordination of all aspects of the construction function to sustain the company's growth and profitability objectives for all projects.
The company has been in operation for several decades and has a solid track record of successful projects in the ICI market. They mainly deliver projects ranging from $1M - 100M. Roles and Responsibilities

Develop company strategic goals and objectives

Develop and manage the operations budget in conjunction with the Controller that will support the administration, operation and sales activities of the organization

Attend and actively participate at scheduled staff and management meetings

Grow revenue through sound business practices, review of work and processes, and training staff to maintain and increase the company's stature

Maintain awareness of Construction & Electrical Industry trends and determine the economic impact of financial, technical or political activities that could affect the company

Recommend new strategies to the President for sales or ways to improve competitiveness in the market

Monitor the progress of each project and ensure that all projects are constructed safely, within or below established budgets and schedules

Forecast costs and final gross margin, providing monthly project reports to the President

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 10+ years of management experience (including supervisory, business development and project management responsibilities)

Previous experience working for an electrical or construction company

Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Engineering

P.Eng, PMP or GSC designation

Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and analyze building designs

Ability to define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions to make sound decisions

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume

Nice to have:

Bilingualism in French and English preferred
