Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sourcing & Procurement, theAssistant Manager, Sourcing - Packaging forMeal Solutions will support in building this growing new business venture.They will be focused on executing aproducesourcing strategy that will reduce cost, maximize sales and profitability of Meal Solutions products while supporting LBL execution initiatives. This position requires an entrepreneurial builder mindset, ability to balance strategic thinking and meticulous execution, and a strong ability to collaborate and influence.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Driveweeklypackagingprocurementneedsfor Meal Solutions& PC Chef Commissary, ensuring on-time/ in full/ in specification delivery of ingredients
Liaise with Culinary, Finance and Operations teams within the business toensuresourcing timelines are met for Meal Solutions projects
Communicate daily with vendorpartners with ongoing project scope, volumes, purchase ordersand ensure all internal and external key stakeholders arewell informed
Closely monitor inventory ofpackaginggoodsinbound and on hand for operational readiness & financial controls
Managepackaging goodsclosely to ensure costing of goods procured meets the financial targets of the business
Partner with suppliers to resolve issues related to invoicing, product quality, and delivery coordination
Troubleshoot delays in supply fulfillment by providing alternative options and solutions to support the needs of the business, while still meeting or exceedingLoblaw standards
Work closely with Marketing to ensure procurement of Packaging meets Loblaws sustainability standards & continue to drive sustainableinitiativeswith the vendor group
Build and develop tools to assist with weekly procurement processes
Actively research, identify and develop relationships with new suppliers that meet business requirements on price, quality and fulfillment
Develop strong working relationships with CategoryandSupply Chainteams, while ensuring effective collaboration and representation of recommendations brought forward
Negotiate costing with suppliers to meet financial targets
Overallsuppliercategorymanagement, ensuring thorough understanding / communication of control brand standards and guardrails for existing, new and prospective suppliers
Continually review our vendor landscape including identifying gaps in vendors for driving innovation, alternative sources of supply, and back up sources of supply
Support Sr. Director, Meal Solutions in the execution of effective Meal Solutions sourcing strategies, projects and initiatives as required
Define buying timelines and communicate withsupplychain& categoryteams
Assist in communicating forecasts developed byfinance team to new and existing suppliers
All Meal Solutions employees are responsible for food safety, we encourage the reporting of potential issues impacting food safety at all levels within the organization
Post-secondary education with a background in retail, merchandising, buying
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Retail/ Buying
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Excel.
