Role Impact:
The Finance Transformation team at Cadillac Fairview is on a game-changing journey driven by people-centric and innovative projects, having a progressive impact across the organization. This Summer Student role will report to the Senior Project Manager, Finance Transformation.
The successful candidate will provide support to the broader Finance Transformation team, including but not limited to, documentation, research, preparing program deliverables, and general administrative duties. The Summer Student will have exposure to various stakeholders and several tools/applications such as JIRA, Smartsheets, Tableau and more.
To qualify, applicants must be full-time students, and be available for the full term of the summer opportunity (May 3rd, 2021 to September 3rd, 2021).
What you will deliver:
Supporting documentation of current state and building target state process maps and workflows across Finance processes, including but not limited to: Record to Report, Plan to Perform, Sales to Cash, Procure to Pay and Acquire to Retire
Identify, document and communicate opportunities for automation through collaboration with Data & Technology, external consultants and independent research
Assist with gathering business requirements across various functional groups
Work with process owners, change management and technology teams to establish process KPI’s, how they will be measured and reported upon
Support the development of an improvement plan with tactical details over a multi-year road map capturing end-state, and targeted improvement measures & goals
Assist partnership with the reporting/data team, to provide data to support decision-making and measuring KPIs related to Transformation initiatives
Assist in the enterprise-wide Finance initiatives, fostering integration and collaboration across the organization
Leverage available tools to help keep track of various projects, deliverables, team calendar and activities
Collaborate with project managers to gather status updates and contribute to broader program report(s)

What you need to succeed:
Enrolled in undergraduate program in the areas of Commerce, Business, Finance, Statistics, Real Estate or related field(s)
Enrollment in an MBA and/or Process Improvement related certifications would be considered an asset
Demonstrated experience in an office environment; project management / consulting experience would be an asset
Strong skills in documentation, project management, change management and communications
High proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint; Lucidchart experience would be an asset
Proven experience in on-campus or external extra-curricular activities
