Role:

This is an outside sales position responsible for integrative the Company’s products and services into the market and for building relationships with new and existing customers. The main focus is to help Trimpac customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals established by the company.

This position often requires working non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends and holidays) in order to successfully meet customers’ needs.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business, penetrate existing accounts, and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth and special objectives within assigned territory.
  • Seek and qualify prospects in accordance with Company account stratification goals.
  • Research customer business needs and develop a mix of products and service to meet needs.
  • Evaluate market trends and recommend products to customers, based on business needs and goals.
  • Possess strong negotiation skills and ability to manage and maintain profitable margins.
  • Be informed of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, and sales; share information with customers as part of value-added services provided.
  • Work with Sales Management to review and analyze margins, pipelines, special order requests, prospecting etc. Educate customer about products, prices, availability, and product uses. Partner with other sales resources to help customers with menu development, new product launches etc.
  • At times, required to collect on outstanding customer accounts as necessary, working with the credit department and client; collect all balances due based on approved credit terms.
  • Partner with the transportation department to create a routing schedule for the customer; troubleshoot any problems that occur during the order process (for example, out of stock items, special order items, low inventory, etc.).
  • Drive customer engagement through participation in company functions, promotions, customer visits, and customer events. Attend and participate in general sales and district meetings.
  • Manage assigned territory by preparing sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, processing credits and pick-up requests, preparing sales quotes and menu suggestions, and filing reports.
  • Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, etc.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years sales experience, preferably in food service
  • University or college degree / diploma is preferred
  • Skilled in consultative sales, adept in maintaining long term relationships based on trust and value added service
  • Driven, self-motivated with a hunter mindset and a proven ability to drive growth
  • Team player
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to quickly learn sales order software
  • Valid driver's license with a “clean” driving record (including: no single DUI in the last 3 years and no multiple DUIs within the last 7 years)
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing (Reference Checks, Criminal Record Search)
  • Ability to read, write, speak English
