Position Summary We have an immediate, rewarding career opportunity for a Psychiatrist to join our amazing team at Ravensview, part of Homewood Health, the national leader in mental health and addictions treatment in Canada. Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led, inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. What you'll be doing As a Psychiatrist, you will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team in order to effectively plan and manage the patients thorough their recovery and rehabilitation. This includes the assessment & management of patients with substance dependence and mental health issues and the clinical psychiatric care of patients as they develop their unique abilities to attain the highest level of functioning.•Provide psychiatric assessments of clients including diagnosing and making recommendations for treatment•Complete documentation including history, RAI-MH on admission and discharge, mental status and weekly progress notes of the highest quality to ensure the medical record is meaningful and useful and a treatment plan can be established by the team under the direction of the physician•Provide ongoing supervision and management of clinical/patient care including daily rounds and sufficient assessments with the patient to ensure ongoing standards of patient care are met•Assist with arrangements for the services of hospitals or other medical facilities when existing facilities are inadequate for necessary assessment, diagnosis or treatment •Assist with arrangements, requests or referrals as may be required regarding the examination, diagnosis or treatment of client by specialists•Participate in case management planning •Utilize all computer medical administration such as: EMAR, CPOE, EMR processes•Provide clinical guidance to the program and to the admitting department for appropriate and timely referrals and admissions•Ensure best practice standards of clinical care are implemented and maintained•Perform ECT treatment as required What we're looking for •Licensed to practice psychiatry by the British Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons•Member in good standing of the British Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons•Member in good standing of the Canada Medical Protective Association and registered in a classification appropriate to the nature of the psychiatrist’s practice•3 years prior experience in a similar role preferred•Specialized qualifications in addiction medicine is preferred•Experience working with persons who are addicted and experiencing significant mental and/or physical disorders, including concurrent disorders, and displaying non-compliant, aggressive, manipulative and drug-seeking behaviours•Ability to diagnose and treat physiological or psychiatric disorders; Prescribe medication and treatment and refer patients as required•Demonstrated experience working within an inter-professional practice model•Previous experience developing and implementing new programs and services Why work with us Homewood Health is Canada’s largest and leading service provider for medically focused, evidence-based treatment of mental health and addiction disorders.
