Our Great Opportunity! User Plane Control (UPC) is responsible for User Equipment handling and Radio Resource Management. UPC is one of the most important and sophisticated domains within the Ericsson RAN software. Most baseband features/functionality involves UPC in some way. We are now looking for a Senior Baseband UPC DL Software Architect to lead all aspects of UPC software architecture and to make the key technical decisions in Baseband UPC DL software domain. You will Be responsible for the current UPC software architecture Collaborate with system and software principle developers to evolve the software architecture roadmap for upcoming 5G NR RAN features Build your knowledge of 5G wireless communication protocols and their specifications Apply knowledge of real-time software development Develop high quality software and implement new functionalities in C code, in a multi-core target environment Connect with Product Line Management to clarify customer requirements Analyze and propose software designs against architectural and functional requirements Propose efficient test automation strategies to protect functionality from degradation Quality assurance in UPC DL domain Interface to other domains and participate in technical meetings as UPC representative To be successful in the role you must have Bachelor’s or preferably master’s degree majored in wireless communication 3GPP wireless communication protocols: 4G/LTE/5G/NR L2 protocols specifically in MAC and 3GPP standards 36.321 & 38.321 NR & LTE RAN L2 feature development experience in MAC Schedular, HARQ, Link Adaptation, Carrier Aggregation, BWP Experience with real-time embedded/DSP software development Ability to work on sophisticated technical issues and provide creative solutions valuable to Ericsson’s business Good inter-person skill to co-ordinate technical forum inside UPC domain Demonstrated a proficiency in critical thinking and lateral problem solving 5+ years of relevant working experience preferably network side implementation You may also have Comfortably discuss wireless communication theory Innovative thinking, good communication and teamwork skills.
