About the Position:
Timbercreek is seeking a Business Systems Analyst who will provide overall ownership for assigned business applications and business processes. This includes services and support to enable effective, reliable, and responsive development, implementation and on-going support and operations of our core ERP application suite as well as related business applications - both specialized business applications and shared/common business applications. The Business Systems Analyst will interact directly with internal investment and operational clients in all the company’s investment business lines (Debt, Finance and Operations) to orchestrate and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, cost-effective application services. The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for providing business systems analysis, development & maintenance support for investment applications – mainly investment analytics and reporting applications. The role requires a good understanding of investment business processes and experience maintaining & supporting investment applications combined with strong business analysis skills, systems design, development and implementation experience. It requires strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills combined with the ability to readily adapt to rapidly changing investment and technology environments.
Take ownership of all relevant code maintenance of current integrations and custom developed tools / applications
Take ownership of support and maintenance of the business systems used by the company
Participate in all phases of software development lifecycle including requirement gathering, analysis, solution design, configuration, development, testing and support
Participate in the implementation of a new ERP system and the selection and design of any additional reporting tools and/or the redesign of existing reporting tools
Interface with vendors to understand roadmap for specific products, support enhancements and new project, coordinate upgrades and maintenance releases
Acquires detailed knowledge of the business uses of the applications and services (in portfolio management, finance and operations) currently implemented in support of the investment divisions and provides proactive solutioning and support to individual users to assist in meeting business objectives
Provides consultancy, collaborates with business partners and provides advice to business partners on system automation, usability of technology and supports for process improvements
Take initiative to recommend processes improvements and demonstrate creative thinking
Implement enhancements, change requests, break-fixes, patches and updates
Develop test plans, test, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), and approve changes to ensure alignment with business objectives and test plans
Develop and deliver end user training materials as well as document solution
Perform and organize ongoing support for customers such as report building (SSRS), data quality projects, new integrations, etc.
Develop functional requirements and system design specifications that align with proposed or existing business solutions
Document code, system integrations, and technical procedures in a clear and concise fashion
Assist with the IT annual budgets as it relates to business systems
Support audits activities and questionnaires as it relates to business systems
Knowledge & Experience
5+ years of experience in MS SQL querying, administration, development, SSIS and SSRS reporting
5-7 years of technical business analysis experience within the financial services sector
Post secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics, Commerce & Finance, or equivalent industry-related business experience
Proficient in C# WinForms/Web Development and advanced knowledge of Excel 2010+ and writing VBA code (not using macros)
Understanding of SDLC and Agile software development methodology with experience in using source control
Experience supporting finance/accounting related ERP applications, integrated systems, databases, and application platforms. Foundational accounting and finance knowledge is considered an asset.
Experience integrating new technological solutions into financial institution’s enterprise platforms
Demonstrable experience in actively contributing to project delivery for both small- and large-scale projects and exposure collaborating successfully with Investments and Finance teams
Python, DevExpress controls, data warehousing, business intelligence implementations, Yardi, SS&C Advent, SS&C Precision, project management, salesforce administration or mortgage servicing knowledge or experience is considered an asset.
