We are committed to enabling safe and secure reuse of electronics, responsible recycling of electronics to divert waste from landfill, and recovery of natural resources from obsolete electronics.We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our HR team in our Edmonton, AB office for Maternity Leave contract. The HR Generalist, under the supervision of the HR Director, will provide timely and professional Human Resources support to applicable division(s), while ensuring the appropriate governing legislation is adhered to. The Human Resources Generalist will also assist in the development and maintenance of Human Resources programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with the Organizations objectives.The Position Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with employees and union. Participate and support in the planning and preparation collective bargaining. Interpret collective agreements to employees and leaders. Conduct investigations, disciplinary actions and grievance meetings as required.Maintain current knowledge of all related employment legislation.Provide guidance and instruction to Managers, Supervisors and employees on policies, programs and systems as required.Actively participate in HR audits, employee opinion surveys, focus groups and have a hands-on approach in the completion of subsequent action plans.Assist in the development and implementation of new programs, policies and procedures as required.Implement and coordinate the recruitment and selection process for the Internal Job Opportunity process, hourly recruiting, and the recruitment of temporary employees.Schedule and conduct interviews/testing as required, and ensure timely feedback is provided to all internal and external candidates.Update job descriptions and participation in job evaluations as required.Prepare, maintain and update employee databases (e.g. training, employee lists) and various related weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.Assist with the preparation, coordination and delivery of New Hire Orientation and various training programs to all employees and various levels within the organization as required.Provide employees with benefits information and respond to benefits inquiries. Your Qualifications and Abilities Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management required, working towards obtaining the CHRP designation preferred. Minimum 5-years’ experience in Human Resources Union/Labour relations experience required. Strong understanding of Canadian employment legislation. Experience with WCB. Proficiency with MS Office applications.Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
