Description:Accounts Payable and Payroll Clerk - Government Agency.Job #1099Job Type: 1 Year Contract: first 6 months on Marberg payroll; with expectation of transferring to Client payroll for following 6 months. Possibility of further extension.Hours: Regular daytime hours.Work location: Onsite, at downtown Toronto location on TTC line.Compensation: $24.39/hr to $24.91/hr. Responsibilities Summary: End-to-end payroll administration for large, complex organization; union and non-union payrolls (will work as part of a larger team). Full cycle Accounts Payable transactions (will work as part of a larger team). Processes, monitors, and maintains current payroll/benefits deductions and cheque requests. Month-end accounting and journal entries. Receives invoices and paperwork for all accounts payable transactions, reviews to ensure compliance with financial policies/procedures and processes accordingly. Prepares invoice batches for payment. Coordinates weekly cheque run Prints and distributes monthly financial reports. Maintains the financial document filing systems. Provides general administrative support and accounting clerical support as required. Qualifications: Post-secondary education in accounting or business, and pursuit of a payroll designation. 2+ years payroll experience from a multi-union environment. Proficiency with ADP Pay@Work and EZ Labour. Experience with and understanding of full cycle accounts payable process. Proficiency in ACCPAC and MSExcel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint; fast and accurate alpha numeric data entry skills (will be tested). Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work well with other team members and internal and external clients. Ability to work onsite every day, in a secure, well equipped office with robust social distancing safety protocols in place. Satisfactory criminal background check, educational verification and employment references.
