The assistant manager supports the fruits and vegetables manager. When the fruits and vegetables manager is absent, he or she manages the department’s operations. The assistant fruits and vegetables manager should strive to offer customers an exceptional shopping experience. Main responsibilities Manage procurement, place orders, and ensure sound inventory management Supply products and arrange product layout in the fruits and vegetable store aisle Manage loss prevention (waste, theft, inventory loss, breakage) Make sure products on shelves are fresh and in good condition Make sure refrigerators and freezers are at the right temperature Ensure sound employee management Plan work and evaluate work performance Coach and motivate the team to improve productivity Make sure display are filled with products Supervise team production and make sure employees follow work methods and rules Make sure food safety and hygiene standards and health and safety standards are applied and followed consistently by all employees in the departmentEnsure proper maintenance of equipment, displays and workstations Job requirements Two years of experience in the field Ability to lift heavy loads (40 lbs) Good knowledge of French (Bilingualism will be an asset) Required Profile Sense of organization and priority managementTeamwork and customer service Ability to work quickly and under pressure Note: The use of gendered terms is not intended to discriminate.
