SUMMARY

The Day Porter will be responsible for a designated job site contracted to BGIS for service. They will execute the duties and ensure maintenance of the facility is being fulfilled as per the client contract while adhering to health and safety practices with utmost professionalism striving to exceed client expectations.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES

Supplies Refill

  • Stock up cart with paper supplies, cleaning products and equipment.
  • Monitor washrooms to ensure they are clean and well stocked with supplies.
  • Cleaning Activities

  • Dust and spot wipe all elevators, escalators, stairs, benches and bins.
  • Vacuum carpets in the entrance ways.
  • Dust mop office hard floor surfaces; vacuum carpeted areas.
  • Wet mop any spills or high traffic areas (as requested).
  • Dust picture frames, displays and bookcases (as requested).
  • Record all spills and hazards found throughout the property on the Risk Management Log books provided.
  • Empty garbage and recycle bins.
  • Patrol all common areas, parkades, lobbies, stairwells, elevators & escalators and clean as required.
  • Respond to building requests and emergencies as they arise.
  • Other reasonable requests from management.
  • Respond to Work Order requests generated from Client or BGIS.
  • Advise Operation team of any identified building issues if discovered while on cleaning patrol.
  • Ensure exterior areas of entrance ways are kept cleaned of debris and snow within 3 meters of the door.
  • Loading Dock Operation

  • Provide loading dock monitoring and coordination.
  • KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • 2+ years of experience in a Cleaning/Service - related field.
  • Strong customer service skills working in areas used by the general public.
  • Fluency in both written and oral English a must.
  • Familiarity with cleaning/battery operated equipment.
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
  • Excellent time management and ability to problem solve / must adhere to tight deadlines / respond quickly to situations / be able to effectively execute solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
