We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse in our Population & Public Health, Sexual Health Blood Borne Infection Program in Abbotsford. This is a regional position, therefore travel to other sites is required.

Build on your career experience by:

  • Coordinating and participating in providing health services related to HIV, Hepatitis C and other associated health conditions. This includes sexual health clinical testing services, in both clinical and outreach settings as well as pre and post-test counseling and partner notification and referral.
  • Utilizing outreach approaches to engage with at risk populations
  • Developing excellent working relationships both internally and externally including physicians, acute care, primary health care centres, and others in facilitating seamless service for people affected by HIV, Hepatitis C and other related health concerns.
  • Conducting case investigation, health promotion and prevention activities in the community
  • Supporting clients living with HIV through a coordinated case management approach
  • Utilizing outreach and harm reduction principles and practices, to engage and retain clients in care
  • Collaborating with other services and community partners to ensure appropriate, culturally sensitive, relevant and efficient care for clients affected by HIV and Hepatitis C
  • Providing harm reduction education, counselling and support to access services for at risk populations
  • Your background includes:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Graduation from an approved school of nursing including public health nursing component.
  • Certification in Reproductive Health (STIs) with BCCNP
  • Two (2) years' recent experience in public health/communicable disease management including experience performing HIV testing and certified reproductive health nursing practices
  • Valid BC driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business related purposes
  • This role is a full-time position located in Abbotsford, BC. Abbotsford is known as the Berry Capital of Canada, with its flourishing community alongside the breath-taking scenic views. It is home to the Abbotsford International Airport, the fastest growing airport in western Canada, and the annual Abbotsford International Air Show.
