Description:Job SummaryThe Director, Pharmacy Professional Services is responsible for overseeing all pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacists of the Ontario McKesson Specialty Pharmacy. Their role is to coach, develop and train pharmacy teams and actively drive the success of the pharmacy while ensuring a safe and effective pharmacy practice that provides exceptional patient care. The Director, Pharmacy Professional Services must have a passion for the business, solid operational experience and a desire to make a difference by helping colleagues to develop their skills, build accountability, drive results and provide a positive customer experience.Specific ResponsibilitiesOversee associated patient care operations and provide direction on pharmacy activities and projects on both a regional and a national level, as assignedProvides leadership, administrative support and management for programs/services within the MSH Division.Participates in team leadership that spans each functional discipline.Leads Pharmacy Team in the creation/implementation of department policies and procedures consistent with the organization's mission and care philosophy.Participates in planning and development of department goals and oversees the function of programs/services consistent with them.Promotes and ensures that the highest quality of care is provided to patients and families.Ensure standardization of processes and smooth rollout of Pharmacy initiatives and programs in collaboration with the respective pharmacy managers across Canada.Collaborate with other business units to grow the Specialty divisionDerive, analyze and manipulate financials and numbers to determine trends and their causesStrive to achieve and exceed Corporate objectivesAssess and develop a labour matrix model that can be applied nationally and assess continually to ensure it is representative of current business demandsResponsibility and oversight of operations including implementing departmental initiatives, key financial activities, tracking and reporting on KPI's and ensuring SLA's are metPartners with operational leaders to manage operations and resources to ensure patient satisfaction and safety is maintainedIn collaboration with other Pharmacy Managers, leads the development of SOP's nationallyKey responsibility for monthly pharmacy inventory and reconciliation, and compliance and process auditsOversee clean room operations (hazardous and sterile non-hazardous) and ensure regulatory complianceSome travel required up to 15%General ResponsibilitiesProvide professional and accurate presentations Promote collaboration and team work within each pharmacy and other business unitsProvide professional expertise to Corporate McKesson CanadaProvide direction and support to respective pharmacy managers and pharmacy staffOperate and promote behaviours that uphold McKesson iCare PrinciplesEnsure company policies, standards, and regulatory standards are at the foremost of all activities and decisionsPosition RequirementsRegulatory:Licensed pharmacist in good standing with OCPTechnical:Previous experience in Specialty Pharmacy or related field10 year's of people and progressive pharmacy management experience2 year's experience in sterile clean room operations and extensive understanding of NAPRA and USP requirementsAbility to assess financial reports and business reportsProficient in using Microsoft applications to present and manipulate datapossess strong working knowledge of Kroll and its capabilitiesable to travel as business needs arise; possess a valid driver's licenseStrong leadership skills, can lead, inspire, mentor, develop and guide a team of professionalsInterpersonal:A professional, confident, and strategic relationship builderStrong communication and teamwork skillspossess finesse to manage relationships internally and externallyPositive, "can-do" attitude and customer focused approachAbility to influence with or without authorityExercises sound knowledge and good judgmentAccountable and results orientedWorker TypeRegularMcKesson is an Equal Opportunity employer.The material contained herein is provided for informational purpose only.
