Description L3 Technologies MAS, located in Gatineau (ON), is a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies, Inc. As Life Cycle Material Specialist, mechanical systems – CF-18 Program at L3 MAS you will: The Life Cycle Material Manager shall provide support to the customer (DND) for all the maintenance activities, development and modification activities of CF-18 systems. More specifically, he/she act as the central point of contact for Headquarters, Bases/Wings and contractors regarding maintenance, technical inquiries and engineering problems, taking corrective actions when necessary. Among other things, he/she recommends spare provisioning, parts disposal and supports priorities to logistic staff. To achieve this, you will be called upon to: Assists the Director, Technical Airworthiness and act as the central point of contact for all technical and maintenance inquiries related to the assigned systems; Recommends changes to technical procedures, engineering standards and maintenance policies; Evaluates changes to fleets and develops plans to satisfy technical, operational and logistical requirements; Monitors advances in maintenance techniques; Aids with the preparation of all documentation and the review and recommends acceptance of contract deliverables; Prepares and presents project progress briefings; Monitors the progress of project milestones; Recommends spare provisioning, parts disposal and supports priorities to logistic staff; Evaluates equipment effectiveness against cost in manpower, financial and material resources; Publication amendments and management; Liaises with Headquarters, Bases/Wings and contractors regarding maintenance and engineering problems, taking corrective actions when necessary; Maintains configuration management for assigned systems and their associated support equipment; Reviews, initiates, writes and/or recommends modifications and special inspection leaflets, special technical instructions, technical investigations, Statements Of Work, studies and projects; Assists in the preparation of work to incorporate changes or improvements; Reviews/propose amendment to the contract deliverables such as drawings and technical manuals; Reviews, conducts and recommends Acceptance Test Procedures; Reviews Materiel requests, Unsatisfactory Condition Reports, Publication Discrepancy Reports, Pre-Installation Failures, Flight Safety and other technical reports and prepares suitable comments for completion; Carries out site visits to Bases/Wings and contractors as required; Reviews field training requirements and recommends corrective actions when required; Provides assistance to supply item managers as required regarding repair & overhaul activities, disposal actions and parts identifications; Monitors Immediate Operational Requirements demands, Maintenance Record Set data, etc., to identify maintenance trends and recommends actions if required; Contacts Deputy Aircraft Engineering Officers on maintenance, modifications and performance of their respective aircraft requirements; and Participates in Technical/Progress Review meetings, review and recommends approval of minutes and co-ordinate actions. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of aircraft technical maintenance or in maintenance support group experience required ; Basic knowledge of the following disciplines and skills: Project Management; Aircraft Maintenance Management; Life Cycle Materiel Management (Basic); Configuration Management; Integrated Logistic System (ILS) basic level; Reliability and Maintainability (Basic); Quality Management; Have Department of National Defense Life Cycle Material Management Trade training or civilian equivalent; Bilingualism an asset (French and English); Ability to write reports in English; Proficiency the following software: Parts Management Software Inventory Management (ex. SAP, DRIMS), Data Management System (DMS), Microsoft Office; Based in Gatineau, National Defense Headquarter. Operational requirements : Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program; Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
