Position OverviewYou are a high-performing and ambitious individual who enjoys taking on new challenges, combining structure and creativity in problem solving, and working on value-accretive plans that support our long-term business strategy. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will utilize your strong financial modelling skills and solid understanding of valuation concepts to conduct research and analysis on projects, operations and assets, develop and evaluate business cases for investment proposals, M&A, commercial opportunities and strategic initiatives, and provide recommendations to the Group Leadership Team and Board of Directors. You will work in tandem with the CFO in driving the corporate development strategy to support the company's growth plan, and you will also be the key point of contact with bankers and corporates and lead the due diligence processes. Drive the corporate development strategy to support the company's growth plan.Be the key contact point with bankers and corporates related to any ongoing M&A, investment, and business development opportunities.Lead the due diligence process and be the coordinator between members of the Group Leadership Team.Conduct industry, competitor, and commercial analysis to execute business development efforts and identify new growth opportunities.Work with business leaders, functional heads, operations, finance and commercial teams to structure and develop investment cases, including providing research and analysis to help guide corporate strategic decision-making.Create and communicate real-time, accurate and insightful reports to key stakeholders using a combination of internal and external data sources.Develop investment committee papers to present to the Group Leadership Team and the Investment Committee of the Board of DirectorsPlay a leading role in the development of valuations and financial modelling of both Trevali and external investment opportunities.Support execution of business improvement opportunities aimed at gaining efficiencies, standardization and scalability across the company.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Geology or a related discipline.Professional qualifications such as a CPA, CFA or MBA is an asset.5+ years' related experience in an analytical role, preferably in mining, oil & gas, investment banking, management consulting, corporate finance, or accounting (CPA). Highly driven go-getter with a can-do attitude and thrives on working collaboratively with various teams in an agile and fast-paced environment.Technically strong with excellent financial modelling skills and a solid understanding of valuation and financial accounting concepts.Able to think quickly understand, dissect and analyze investment proposals and/or business cases, and propose smart solutions.Thorough, detail-oriented, organized and able to juggle multiple priorities at the same time.Tech-savvy and able to efficiently utilize technology to improve processes Able to synthesize data into conclusions and draw out implications data driven, but can draw conclusions out of data / see the "big picture"Strong business acumen and possess sound and practical judgement.Excellent analytical skills and able to translate data and concepts into concrete plans and actions.Superior communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, and able to adapt and manage well through change. This role can be performed remotely within Canada, with requirement to travel to Vancouver and our global operations as needed.
