We are committedto solving the world’s biggest challenges in the areas of water, energy andurbanization.Our Rail & Transit group located in our MarkhamOffice is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Inspector toperform inspection duties on civil, structural, and signal railwayinfrastructure projects.Your Responsibilities will include: Working safely in conformance with GHD’s Behaviour-Based Safety culture and in conformance with all safety requirements of the railway; Completing day-to-day inspections of railway construction including constructing new rail, bridge repairs or replacements, signal upgrades, and new station construction in accordance with client terms of reference and manuals; Making payment recommendations to Contract Administrator and client staff; Daily completion of project records / diary entries; Monitoring contractor work for compliance with contract specifications; Monitoring contractor work for compliance with applicable safety and environmental legislation; Taking action, in consultation with Contract Administrator and in accordance with contract requirements, when non-conformances are observed; Use of GHD or Railway’s Web-Based Contract Management System on assignments; Making recommendations / proposing solutions for emerging project issues; Working nights, weekends, extended shifts; Working overtime hours as necessary. Work is seasonal in nature and will likely involve greater hours of work in summer than in winter months; Mentoring junior staff; Other duties as may be assigned;Skills, Competencies & Qualifications: Minimum 5 years' experience; OACETT rcsi designation, or PEO EIT designation; CROR or E Rail Safe qualified. Past experience working on corridor or at transit stations including grading, track installations, signals, bridges, culverts, and transit stations is considered an asset. Sound judgment and decisiveness; Team player, cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge;
