You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. This position location is open to our Ontario office locations (Toronto, Kitchener, Guelph, Oakville, Ottawa, Chatham, London or Windsor). Remote or flexible work arrangements will also be considered. Responsibilities What your day will look likeProject Management & Technical Development (77%)Manage and coordinate programs, projects and technical studies for the natural environment component of a variety of projectsSupport the development of environmental impact assessments, compensation/offsetting plans, and related environmental permitting assignments at the provincial and federal levelsScope, plan, develop, and implement field programs for a variety of natural resource, municipal, land development, and infrastructure projectsCoordination of multi-disciplinary projectsPrepare, review and present reports and proposalsManage the design and delivery of biological studies and programsDirect and instruct project team members including natural scientists, technologists and technical support staffBusiness travel upon requestBusiness Development (20%)Build client relationships through identifying market opportunities, client communications, preparation of proposals, and business development activitiesPresent at, and participate in, conferences, technical workshops, webinars, and professional associations to raise the Dillon profile in the business community and among peersCollaborate with staff across Canada for the purposes of project delivery, client relationship development, and opportunity/project researchLearning & Development (3%)A commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentInput to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees Qualifications What you will need to succeedAn undergraduate degree in biology, ecology or a related environmental sciences field. A degree in a fisheries related field would be considered an asset.Professional experience in an environmental consulting, industrial, regulatory, or academic settingValid driver’s license Experience 3+ years of experience in environmental consultingIn-depth knowledge of relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirementsExperience in the preparation of regulatory applications and submissionsExperience in planning and executing field programs as part of environmental studiesExperience in executing aquatic field programsUnderstanding of the application of Best Management Practices to environmental compliance and effectiveness monitoring programsDemonstrated success in project management and client relationship skillsExcellent oral and written communication, report writing, critical thinking, organizational and interpersonal skillsCommitment to project quality and project deadlinesWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
