Together we deliver exceptional experiences to our over 2 million daily customers.We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Data Scientist Co-op to join our Data Science & Advanced Analytics team. Our primary focus is to democratize data & insights throughout the organization and deliver analytic solutions that enable analysis and generation of insights that were not previously possible. The position is an essential part of Oxford as you will have opportunity to develop world class data solutions and products. The Co-op will be an integral member of Data Science & Analytics team and be responsible for a wide range of activities across the data and analytics lifecycle, including areas such as discovery, profiling, modeling, and testing. You will have an opportunity to gain exposure to different facets of the business such as technology, leasing, operations, research, marketing and development. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for: - Helping build machine learning models and deploy them to solve business problems using cloud platforms like Azure and Databricks - Working with the team to innovate and build reports, dashboards and other data product to enhance decision making and daily operations across the different asset classes - Extracting data from APIs and other sources, storing them and helping team to use it in most meaningful way - Exploring, analyzing and deriving insights from the data and build smart data products - Working with different lines of business to understand their needs and build applications to help them achieve their goals - Identifying and communicating technical problems, processes, and solutions - Helping drive transformation by continuously looking for ways to automate existing processes, testing, & optimize data quality - Writing clean and concise code in languages such as Python/R To succeed in this role, you have: - Working towards completion of an undergraduate or post-graduate degree (preferably with a targeted graduation date in 2022) with a concentration in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics or other quantitative disciplines - Proficiency in programming languages especially Python/R. Preference is for Python - Working knowledge of creating dashboards using Power BI - Knowledge of querying database required - Solid analytical skills and good understanding of underlying statistical concepts (distribution, sampling, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, correlation, regression) - A good understanding of Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence landscape - Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a high level of attention to detail - The ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately (both verbal and written) - The ability to meet tight deadlines and to manage conflicting priorities - Excellent interpersonal skills
