Skwlax Resource Management has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Operations to join our team in Chase, British Columbia. The Director of Operations will work closely with Senior Management and Executives to strategize and develop long-term plans that support continued levels of success and growth at Skwlax Resource Management.Key Job Duties:Responsible for all field operations to achieve timely and profitable completion projectsMaintain and promote a culture that promotes safety, quality, and environmental compliance for all staff, employees, subcontracts, and clients while following all policies, procedures and regulationsOversee staff and project teams by carrying out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees and subcontractors; planning, assigning and directing work; providing feedback; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemsOversee all reporting requirements for all projects internally and externallyPrepare reporting for leadership and present, as requiredManage and maximize the use of Company resources and support to effectively deliver projects on time and on budgetOversee the development of project plans, including scope, budget, schedule and project team responsibilities to accomplish project objectivesOversee the tender process, budgets, estimates, construction schedules, progress and monthly reports etc. for all projects Company wideEnsure proper cost control, management and forecasting of projects is maintained at all timesPlan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasksManage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocationReview financial reporting and adjust operational budgets to promote profitabilitySupport strong relationship development between local groups, communities, and industrySupport the creation of an accepting, respectful, non-judgmental, and inclusive work environmentIdentify and problem solve through potential conflicts as they ariseSet strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivityRevise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementationOther tasks and duties as assignedJob Requirements:Qualifications & Experience:Engineering Degree, or graduate of an applicable technical diploma program; or an equivalent combination of education (i.e. PMP/PRINCE II) and related work experienceMinimum 15 years of experience in the construction industry, with significant management and supervisory experience in a similar roleValid Class 5 Driver’s LicenseProven understanding of estimating and project management theories, methodologies, and industry practicesStrong understanding in developing and maintaining corporate and project budgets and schedulesFamiliarity with relevant construction codes, standards, and practicesComprehensive understanding of project and contract documentation including contracts, drawings, specifications, subcontracts, etc.Proven ability to work, build and maintain relationships with communities, including municipalities and Indigenous groupsSkills and Knowledge:Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional successExcellent communication skills: written and verbal skills, listening skills, organization abilities, proven attention to detail, and ability to develop good working relationships with inside and outside organizationsSuperior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, client relations, production, and employee managementStrong understanding and commitment to First Nations culture, history and community developmentWorking Conditions:This position is office based in Chase, BC, with frequent travel regionally and to project sites
