As a 310T Apprentice Technician at WM, you will partner with our licenced Mechanics and learn how to inspect, diagnose and repair WM vehicles and equipment, while working in our state of the art facility. We own our Fleet and are proud of it, so we like to keep as much work in-house as possible! As an Apprentice Mechanic, you won’t just be responsible for oil changes and tire rotations – you will be exposed to preventive maintenance services, inspections, electrical repairs, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on our growing fleet of CNG trucks. The Day-To-Day...You will be working on a small team and under supervision of a licenced Mechanic, so it will be important that you are motivated and task-oriented. Safety is huge at WM and it’s important to us that you go home to your loved ones each day. We train all employees on safe work practices, supply everything necessary to ensure safe work environments and ensure our safety culture is embraced by all employees. You will have the opportunity to utilize our vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs, estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts. We also offer (and encourage you to take advantage of!) state-of-the-art training for all Mechanics. This is online OEM Certified training for Cummins, Freightliner, Mack and Alison transmissions.
