You will adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as Provincial and Federal legislation. You will be the first point of contact on all payroll inquiries from internal staff, management team and external businesses, and assist in the processing of all year-end payroll filings according to the specific deadlines.Key Job Responsibilities:Responsible for updating payroll data changes in the third party payroll system (currently ADP Globalview (SAP based)Responsible for verification of HR data that is imported from WorkdayResponsible for data entering all payroll related information into the ADP system in an accurate and timely manner for the processing of payroll. Ensures that documents received are properly completed and authorized prior to processing. Maintains an orderly file system of all data to be entered, and that which is entered.Meets the required timelines for payroll enteringReviews the “preview” payroll reports of data information prior to the live production of the payroll.Reconciles data errors and communicates/ records corrective action.Process payroll related activities, bi-weekly and month end, such as union due remittances, garnishments, family support, pension plan contributions, BC Medical plan, etc.Respond to external inquiries from government agencies, banks, etc.Respond to employee and management inquiries related to payroll/HRProcessing of month end activities for Chubb in a timely accurate manner for the Finance Department (including but not limited to production of reports, correspondence with the Finance team locally and in Chennai.Assist with balancing year end payroll filings and year end reports according to Federal and Provincial legislation and deadlines (i.e. Workers Compensation Board, T4’s, T4A’s, etc.).Respond to employee and management inquiries related to payroll/HR data.Respond to external inquiries from government agencies, banks, etc.Assist with HR projects and assignments as requiredDemonstrates good human relations skills in professionally handling internal payroll inquiries (e.g. questions with paystub, new employee numbers, etc.).Accountable for acting in a safe and responsible manner. Follows established company health & safety procedures.Qualifications:Must have 5 years of related experience in a Payroll position within a national organizationCollege Education in a related discipline (Office Administration, basic Accounting, Payroll)Must have knowledge of the Globalview (ADP) SAP based payroll system is a mustStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel)Canadian Payroll Association Certificate would be an assetMust have knowledge of deduction procedures for Workers Compensation, Union Dues, Family Support & Government TaxesBilingualism would be an assetSound knowledge of Payroll Administration and Human Resources practices and procedures.Sound knowledge of company policies and procedures regarding payroll activities.Good human relations and interpersonal skills.
