About the Position

Pastry / Dessert Chef responsible for creating an assortment of desserts, including pastries, cookies, cakes and other confections to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation

Candidate needs to be well practiced in the art of decorating and piping for cookies / cupcakes and cakes

Candidate needs to be able to follow set recipes currently in use and to create new recipes and bakery offerings

Personality is important as candidate will be interacting with customers with the potential to upsell and for customization of special event baking needs

Assistance with preparation and packaging of other food lines as required (meals / soups / chowders / preserves)

Candidate will be responsible to ensure their kitchen area adheres to safety and health regulations

Qualifications

Post Secondary Training in Culinary Arts / Baking / Pastry Making

Creative ability with artisitic skill in decorating cakes / cookies / cupcakes and other desserts

Knowledgeable of baking with ingredient limitations (gluten free / sugar free)

Keen attention to detail

Flexible working hours - including early morning shifts / evenings and weekends as required

Capable of working in a fast paced production environment

Able to work independently on given projects, following directions, and also to work as part of a team
