British Land invests significantly in understanding its customers and has created a centralised Insight department to serve the needs of the Retail, Office and Residential teams. The Insight team creates insights from research, and data in order to become more customer orientated, strengthen decision making and to help generate incremental value for our customers and stakeholders.

The Technology Team are responsible for supporting, maintaining and enhancing British Land’s technologies to enable British Land staff to do their best work and to provide our customers with an environment and experience which has digital placemaking at its heart.

The Role

This is a broad role which involves working alongside both the Insights and Technology teams. We are looking for a focused, detail orientated individual who possesses creative problem-solving skills and works well in a team environment. You will be responsible for supporting the heads of both departments, as well as gaining practical experience of data analysis and customer research by leading the delivery of the British Land retail exit survey programme.

Insight Responsibilities

  • Provide full and effective administrative support to the Insights Director (diary management, expense processing, travel, team social events, etc.)
  • Provide assistant activities to the Insights Director (creation of briefing notes, creation of presentation materials, assisting with ad hoc administration activities, etc.)
  • Lead the retail exit survey programme – a survey research programme that gathers the views of tens of thousands of shoppers across multiple retail sites across the UK. Develop strong relationships with the research provider, work with them to ensure milestones in the exit survey process are met and exit survey debriefs are compelling and impactful for stakeholders Work with the Insight Manager to gather the asset specific requirements from internal stakeholders and review the draft question sets from the research provider. Work with the Insight Manager to review the research outputs from the research provider, organise & facilitate results workshops for each asset, proof and circulate the final reports
  • Manage distribution of outputs and insights from exit survey process: Create bespoke reports summarising survey findings to our priority, external customers Work with the Insight Manager and other internal stakeholders to ensure the research reports and additional insights from the research are shared both internally and externally to drive change Work with the Marketing team to ensure exit survey results are rolled out into leasing materials Provide data analysis and charts for bespoke leasing packs as required, dealing with requests from the Customer Marketing and Leasing teams in a timely fashion
  • Tech Responsibilities

  • Provide full and effective administrative support to the Head of Technology (diary management, expense processing, travel, team social events, processing cost estimates on selected projects etc.)
  • Provide assistant activities to the Head of Technology (creation of briefing notes, creation of presentation materials, assisting with ad hoc administration activities, etc.)
  • Diary management, expense processing and other ad hoc support to other members of the technology leadership team
  • Raising purchase orders and managing invoice queries
  • Support technology leadership on the oversight of departmental resourcing (maintaining resource allocation schedules and associated budgets, co-ordination of recruitment and onboarding of new resources)
  • Coordinating and minute project governance meetings
  • Coordinate the Internal/ External Technology Audit log and ensuring actions are resolved and fed back to the central audit team
  • Required Skills

  • Successful track record of project co-ordination
  • Proven experience in a project environment
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to self-prioritise and work independently
  • Analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Good level of skills in Microsoft tools such as Excel & PowerPoint
