Description:Location Ottawa Language English Security Clearance Secret Our Federal Government Client is in the midst of an ongoing project to modernize and maintain their IM/IT infrastructure. As such, they are seeking the services of a Senior Technology Architect to provide implementation advice for key departmental systems that are moving to the cloud or to enterprise data center. They will be responsible to: Develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies, either for an organization or for a major application area, to meet the business and application requirements. Identify the policies and requirements that drive out a particular solution Analyze and evaluate alternative technology solutions to meet business problems Ensure the integration of all aspects of technology solutions Monitor industry trends to ensure that solutions fit with government and industry directions for technology Provide information, direction and support for emerging technologies Perform impact analysis of technology changes Provide support to applications and/or technical support teams in the proper application of existing infrastructure Gather Requirements Conduct client and IMIT meetings to identify the servers, services, and components requirements; Confirm technical, sizing, required availability, features required, and workloads; Determine and document the amount of data for the deployment, performance, and encryption requirements and classifications; Determine all server and application settings and configurations, as well as all underlying application dependencies; Determine operating system performance requirements, on-premises integration requirements, and remote connection and access requirements. Environment Design (Cloud and/or On Premise) Develop the network design including IP addressing and routing; Develop network Virtual Network (VNet) design including all sub-components and configurations (firewalls, load balancers, etc); Develop the Identify and Access Management design; Develop the monitoring and compliance design; Develop the compute service design; Design and develop technical architectures to meet the business and application requirements; Designing a business continuity strategy for cloud infrastructure and services. Cloud Infrastructure Deployment Gather and transfer data to the cloud infrastructure; Assist in application deployments and configurations; Configure the remote secure gateway and connectivity to the cloud infrastructure (e.g., VPN Gateway); Develop Creation of Resource Manager templates Develop Cloud containers for applications migration Qualifications: College or University background related to IT or 10+ years of experience in the field in the last 15 years. A minimum of 10 years experience performing tasks similar to the listed responsibilities. One or more of the following certifications: AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals AZ-300 or 303: Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies AZ-3001 or 304: Microsoft Azure Architect Design Microsoft Solution Expert (MSCE) Experience in design and configurations aligned with GC ITSG (IT Security Guidance) and the IT Security Control Catalogues. Experience in designing, configuring and implementing Virtual Networks architectures. Experience in designing and implementing Microsoft Active Directory. Exerience migrating custom or COTS based solutions to a cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure.
