INTROResponsibilities include processing Site Development Notices (SDNs) and Temporary Siting Notices (TSNs) as well as working to make CNL staff aware of the importance of site planning and what the Site Planning team does, including early consultation in projects, guiding proponents through site planning processes and ensuring site planning records are appropriately filed in the corporate records management system.The Planning Assistant will support and assist in the regular, consistent monitoring of office, lab and change room supply and demand to ensure that real estate needs are met for the business that is performed at the CRL site. The Planning Assistant will work in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to assist the Site Planner with all aspects of real estate, including leasing, land ownership activities with/on behalf of AECL and real property reporting.DUTIES Processes site planning applications for review by internal stakeholders.Responsible for documenting decision making processes, including communications with stakeholders and agreed upon actions.Supports in developing and maintaining a real estate strategy for the CRL site.Create, track and report on key metrics.Respond to general real estate enquiries.Provide consultation with respect to real estate matters and policies for both internal and external stakeholders.Other duties as assigne QUALIFICATIONS University or college program in architecture, construction, engineering, planning, geography or related field.Field or equivalent practical experience of between 1 to 2 years in facility planning, property management, and/or real estate stewardship gained in a medium to large size organization.University or college program in architecture, construction, engineering, planning, geography or related field.Field or equivalent practical experience of between 1 to 2 years in facility planning, property management, and/or real estate stewardship gained in a medium to large size organization.Excellent communication skills.Excellent customer service orientation in order to support client group priorities.Ability to understand and value different customer needs and provide tailored services where necessary.Above average quantitative skills.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) plus aptitude and ability to work with other computer software packages as required.Experience and competence utilizing facility management software and platforms is an asset.Impeccable organizational skills with high attention to detail.Ability to establish work priorities and handle a wide variety of work, with multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines.Willingness to take action and display initiative as opportunities arise.Mature judgment. #LI-POST
