Job Description Summary : You will be responsible for guiding the account and creative teams in optimising the output, quality and value of their work, whilst supporting and encouraging colleagues to identify and grow new business opportunities. You will be the key point of contact for clients and accountable for the planning, execution and measurement of a portfolio of projects and programmes to the client’s satisfaction, whilst ensuring strategically-aligned, quality deliverables on time and within budget.As part of the Leadership Team, you will manage resource within the business unit, to help ensure all demands on the accounts are serviced effectively and profitably.Job Description :Client ServiceDirect and ensure support to the Account Director on client or project-related meetings and encourage colleagues to work collaboratively in progressing work. Empower the Account Director to lead in most project-related workEstablish and reinforce relationships with key client personnel, primarily marketing, medical, and procurement teamsProactively advise clients on new issues and the external environmentTake responsibility for developing, budgeting, managing and finalising client activity programmes, ensuring these are delivered efficiently and to client objectivesInstigate and facilitate brainstorms/workshops to develop the strategic, tactical and creative direction of accounts (both with the client and with the wider internal teams)Account Team As part of the Leadership Team, ensure the effective management of resource within your business unit to help ensure all demands on the accounts are serviced effectively and profitablyDirect, lead and motivate account teams to fulfil their potential and ensure accounts are managed with a clear structure of roles and responsibilities and take ownership and responsibility for projectsEnsure the management of project resourcing and staffing requirementsWorking alongside the Business Unit Lead, make recommendations on project resourcing and staffing requirements; oversee recruitment of prospective candidates as appropriateDirect account team activity to ensure all programme activities are implemented efficiently and deliver in-line with client objectivesEnsure the account team adhere to all Medicom processes and quality checksMentor and empower the account teams in their rolesCommercial awareness and business developmentBe responsible and accountable for securing and retaining business by providing professional, consultative, proactive and strategic support and ideasProactively sell agency services that are innovative, visible and profitable, as well as create and develop opportunities for growing business within existing accountsDirect, guide and where necessary deliver on new business pitchesBe aware of wider industry, client competitor strategies and market environment, and use this knowledge to direct the account teams’ work, in consultation with clientsLead the preparation and presentation of new business pitchesDemonstrate an intimate understanding of client products, therapy areas, portfolio and commercial strategyKeep up to-date with issues/events/changes in the external environment that could impact new and existing business opportunitiesBe able to demonstrate an understanding of how the agency strategy cascades into operational delivery plans to strengthen the relationship with our clientsPartner with other Havas Life network providers accordingly, to help secure larger business wins Financial managementDirect, guide and support the account team to develop, approve, reconcile and negotiate project budgets and guide colleagues in doing the sameTake responsibility for sense-checking all final budgets with the Account Director before they get sent to clientsHave an in-depth understanding of the financial status of accounts at all times (with Account Directors) including overall responsibility for internal reporting using the sales sheetIn conjunction with the Business Unit Lead, ensure input into revenue forecasts with submissions based on sound financial trends and experienceOversee and manage account/project resource (based on fee projections), profitability, forecasting and revenue to maximise growth opportunitiesTake responsibility for establishing and confirming financial arrangements with the clientPeople ManagementTake responsibility for leading and managing the activities of direct reports/teamEnsure the development of direct reports by having regular 1:1 review meetings, identifying development needs, support and tracking progress against set objectivesProvide effective coaching as required to ensure your direct reports/team are able to carry out their duties to the best of their ability and encourage a positive working environmentManage upwards where applicable, participate in and sometimes lead, management discussions.Accept responsibility and accountability for the outputs and performance of direct reports/teamAdhere to and follow HR procedures in a timely fashion relating to personnel, such as resourcing, performance reviews, absence reporting, annual reviews, payroll submissions and exit arrangementsAd hoc dutiesInput into any ongoing agency projects as and when required, providing support within the scope of the role and level of expertise.Take ownership for seeking opportunities for self-development and take responsibility for own growthMonitor your own behaviour and impact on others, to ensure the continuous promotion of a collaborative and harmonious working environmentCarry out any other duties as required within the scope of the skillset determined for the roleSkills :Contract Type :Permanent
