Income Tax Auditor (AU0143) Conducts income tax audits of complex large businesses including corporations, partnerships, and trusts. Works independently or as a member of an integrated team, to ensure compliance with the statutes administered by the CRA. Tax Avoidance Auditor (AU0239)Conducts income tax audits of domestic and international aggressive tax avoidance schemes of complex large businesses including corporations, partnerships, trusts and high wealth individuals. Works independently or as a member of a team, to ensure compliance with the statutes administered by the Agency. International Tax Auditor (AU0335)Conducts income tax audits of complex large multinational businesses including corporations, partnerships, and trusts involving international tax issues to ensure compliance with the statutes administered by the Agency. Candidates applying will be periodically screened against the prerequisite staffing requirements throughout this period based on business needs. Candidates who meet the prerequisites will be invited to an assessment and added to the qualified pool when staffing requirements are met. Candidates who are placed in a qualified pool will be eligible for potential appointments. Appointments may take place from this staffing process during the posting period. Essential staffing requirements To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements: Education the CRA’s minimum education standard for AU-Auditing. You must upload your education credentials in the education section of your candidate profile and submit all required documents by the closing date and time of this poster. Failure to do so can result in your application not being considered further. Candidates currently occupying a position at the AU-01 level or higher in Compliance Programs or at the MG-AFS-05 level in Compliance Programs are considered to meet the educational requirement and are not required to submit proof of education unless it is requested by the Staffing Board. Foreign education credentials – In addition to the above requirements, you must provide a verification of Canadian equivalency from a recognized credential assessment service. Candidates with foreign designations must have their designation confirmed by the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA). Any applicable fees are the responsibility of the candidate. Experience: A minimum of five years’ experience in a public accounting environment is required. OR A minimum of five years’ experience in a senior private accounting role is required. OR Current Canada Revenue Agency Employees Recent and significant* experience performing audits or audit support functions** at the AU-02 level or higher within the Canada Revenue Agency. *Recent and significant is defined as the experience that would normally be associated with performance of these functions as part of the major job duties accomplished for a period of not less than 12 consecutive months in the last 5 years. **Experience performing audits or audit support functions within the Canada Revenue Agency may include, but is not limited to, experience in the Audit, Business Intelligence & Quality Assurance (BIQA), Appeals, Criminal Investigations or LPRA/SR&ED Divisions for the purposes of administering and/or enforcing the Income Tax Act and/or the Excise Tax Act and/or various commodity tax Acts and Legislation.
