Core ResponsibilitiesRequirement:
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to work on an exciting new strategic project to create a common data platform. Based in our Mississauga office, you will be comfortable working in a dynamic DevOps/Agile environment and be experienced with AWS.
You will collaborate on requirements, produce appropriate solution designs, create development tasks, and work with the team to implement the solution.
Reporting to the Head of Data, you will also work closely with Product Owners, Architecture, QA and Release Management to develop data products directly affecting the business through increased operational efficiency and generated revenue.
To apply for this role, in addition to having a proven technical background you must also have experience and track-record of working on enterprise-level applications. You will join a large team of diverse skills and experience.
Core Responsibilities:

Develop data pipelines including necessary components for data transformation, validation, reporting and analysis

Develop data mapping processes to establish connection with various sources and destination systems via API, SFTP, SQL and any other communication protocol

Develop production grade code including methodology for continuous integration with multiple environments

Develop data products and analytical tools that utilise the data pipelines providing relevant insights with direct impact to the business, increasing operational efficiency and generating revenue.

Perform testing and validation to support the accuracy of data transformations and data verification.

Provide post implementation support and troubleshoot any potential issues.

Prepare documentation of existing and new data flows

Provide insight and direction to the evolution of applications/solutions from a technology perspective

A desire to remain technically capable and an expert in current technologies

Key RequirementsKey Requirements:

5+ years of professional experience

Experience in data-related process controls, data-mapping, and ETL processes and tools

3+ years professional experience with python

Accomplished SQL Skills - PostgresSQL preferred

Experience with Apache NiFi a plus

Experience with Spark desirable

Experience with ML Ops tools such as Airflow a plus

Experience with machine learning a plus

Accounting or financial services technical experience considered an asset
