We're looking for someone to help us envision and build those core services that underpin Thomson Reuters' products.About the RoleAs a Sr. Software Engineer, you willDesign and Deliver: Write new software, make modifications to existing software, or integrate software applications and modules in accordance with agreed upon specifications, created in partnership with othersCreate and execute unit testing and integration testing ensuring software meets requirements.Contribute or lead to the creation of design.May provide technical support to operations or other development teams.Create, review, and maintain all required technical documentation/ manual related to assigned software to ensure supportability and reuse.Mentor:Review work of peers and more junior developers.Provide wider feedback into performanceAssist in identification and implementation of short-term and long-term solution options, including risk assessments.Assist with improvements to prevent problems, including problem resolution workflowBe collaborative:Participate in remediation solutions.Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of workTake ownership:Provide work breakdown and estimates for various software development tasks.Provide timely status updates for areas of individual responsibilities within projects to supervisorActively participate in scrum team and ceremonies.Demonstrate software as requestedDevelop software using disciplined software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies.About You You're a fit for the role of Sr. Software Engineer if you have:5+ years of experience as Python Developer, experience with Python frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask, Bottle)Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS - storage, compute, serverless, EMR/Glue/Spark/SQS/SNS/API/Roles/S3 etc.) and REST APIExperience developing NLP and ModelOPS, deployed to production environmentsKnowledge of JavaScript and the AngularJS framework is a plusAbility to work well independently and as part of a teamAbility to adhere to development processes and deliver high quality code on timeExperience with CICD practices for microservices and serverless solutions (Github, AWS)Experience with Agile software methodologies (weekly sprints)BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant fieldWhat's in it For YouAt Thomson Reuters, our people are our greatest assets.
