Pomerleau: proud individuals who share a vision and arepassionate about what they do.What YOU Will DoUnder the supervision of the Senior Director ofEnvironment and Sustainable Development, the incumbent willensure environmental management on various construction projects across Canada.(70% of time in the office and 30% on various projects across Canada.) Thisperson will collaborate with the various project management teams, the clientand government authorities, and will supervise a team of environmentalspecialists assigned to various projects.High-productivity tasks :Produce the environmental content for qualifications and proposals.Support project teams in managing environmental issues and incidents.Obtain environmental permits and authorizations.Ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS), based on ISO 14001:2015, is appropriately implemented on the various projects.Prepare deliverables required under the contract.Supervise the environmental advisors assigned to various projects.Ensure work is environmentally compliant.Specific tasks and responsabilities :Collaborate with the proposal and pre-construction teams to produce required deliverables for a proposal and estimate material and human resources necessary.Submit and follow up on applications for environmental permits and authorizations in a timely manner.Mobilize resources to implement and monitor conditions and requirements associated with permits, authorizations, acts, regulations and contract documents.Communicate significant environmental risks so they are taken into account in decisions made and actions implemented by project management.Offer consulting support to projects on various environmental issues (accidental spills, waste reclamation, fauna, flora, protection of wetlands, water quality, dust control, erosion mitigation measures, noise mitigation, contaminated soils, residual hazardous materials, work in bodies of water, etc.).Implement EMS processes, plans and forms and ensure each project inputs performance indicators, according to corporate requirements.Draft and implement action plans for environmental protection.Draft and implement specific management plans (water, air, noise, vibration, soil, wildlife, fueling, emergency response, etc.).Coordinate implementation of monitoring programs.Assist in implementing the environmental training plan.Manage environmental non-conformities and violation notices.Implement an internal auditing and site monitoring program.Visit the various projects to ensure activities are compliant and provide consulting support.Prepare reports on environmental performance of projects.Participate in management meetings and make the various business units aware of environmental issues and requirements.Supervise the team of environmental consultants working on various projects.Identify and obtain the human and material resources necessary for your team of environmental consultants.Assist the Communications team in following up on environmental requests and complaints.Proactivelyparticipate in meetings with authorities, the client and management, as well asin communications and decisions regarding management and environmentalcompliance of projects.What YOU Will BringUniversity degree in environment, sustainable development,geotechnics or a similar fieldAt least eight (8) years of experience in theenvironmental fieldExperience in coordinating and supervising staffExperience in construction or industrial operationsStrong understandingof the environmental challenges and impacts in the construction industryKnowledge ofprovincial and federal environmental regulationsKnowledge of LEED andEnvision certification is an assetIn-depth knowledge ofMicrosoft Office suiteBilingual (French andEnglish)Team managementskills and interest is importantHardworking anddiscerningVersatile, flexible and demonstrates initiativeAptitude for workingon a multidisciplinary team in the construction fieldKeen sense oforganization and self-directedStrong communication and leadership skills, with acooperative spiritPositive outlook with constructive andsolutions-oriented approachWhy Choose PomerleauCompetitive salary 4 weeks’ vacation Group insurance (including a health spending account!)
