Responsibilities and DutiesCosting model Develop and maintain the standard costing modelMaintain and improve job costing system to accurately model and predict profitabilityDesign and implement data tracking methods to determine actual costsProvide costing info for any projects or quotesReview standard and actual costs for inaccuraciesMaintain BOMs and pricingDetermination of appropriate overhead applicationValidate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end closeValidate landing cost against purchase cost of each inventory itemsCalculate and monitor project based budget and costing Inventory Establish and review standard costs for all inventory itemsReview, analyze and report on inventory valuation, raw materials, WIP, direct and indirect labor, manpower productivity, overhead costs and related variancesCo-ordinate cycle counts and results to improve accuracy of perpetual inventoryCo-ordinate annual physical inventory count, work closely with production and warehouse to monitor, track and improve physical inventory count process and inventory managementSupport business partners through data collection and analyses related to inventory, manufacturing costs and other expendituresEnsure validity and accuracy of ERP system through analysis, internal audit and coordination with inventory control, production and other functional teams Variances Analyze actual production costs and investigate manufacturing variancesAnalyze variances and discrepancies for various accounts, including revenue and cost of salesAnalyzing changes in product design including materials, labor and machine requirements to determine effects on costsReconcile perpetual inventory balances and resolve any variances as they progress through the facility ensuring the proper accounting treatment of inventory through the manufacturing process Reporting Provide management with reports identifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products/customersPrepare working papers and reports to inform plant management of financial performancePrepare pricing documentation annually for management reviewProvide all required documents & information to Finance manager to ensure strategic data is reflected in financial statements and recorded into accounting systemsAct as the subject matter expert for reporting in the ERP system from a costing and manufacturing perspective Work Conditions: Salary 65 K$ to 75 K$ depending on experienceDay shift - Monday to Friday - 40 hours per weekPaid Sick DaysEmployer Paid Comprehensive Group Benefit Plan – Life/AD&D/LTD/ Extended Health/Dental/Health Care Spending AccountGroup RRSP with Employer MatchUniversity degree or College diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldKnowledge of both financial reporting standards & managerial accounting practicesMinimum 3 years of experience within a plant-based operation costing positionMinimum 5 years experience with inventory management in manufacturing industryAdvanced excel skills is requiredExtensive ERP experience is a requiredAnalytical and problem-solving experienceExcellent organizational and planning skills as this role is forever changing due to the new projects driven by new business opportunitiesMust be a self-starter and have demonstrated ability to add value to reports and analysisAble to work both independently and as part of a teamAuthorized to work in Canada for any employerCPA designation or Accounting certification is a strong asset ABOUT US: Green Belting Industries (Member of the Ammega Group) is a leader company in Teflon / PTFE product quality and service excellence for quality tapes and belts.
