As a committed thought leader, you will be part of GHD’s brand positioning to be the premier provider of community engagement, public consultation, strategic communication, and risk communication services. As a senior member of the ECC practice you will be accountable for securing and delivering a pipeline of work aligned with the ECC business objectives. Working closely with the Business Group Leader and our team of Stakeholder Engagement Specialists, you will support expansion of our stakeholder engagement offering by leveraging your existing client relationships in the industry. To realize planned growth, you will lead strategy and business development for major pursuits. You will also enjoy the role of a mentor and coach in a growing team of stakeholder engagement and communication professionals. GHD’s Engagement, Communication and Communities group is based in Toronto, working on projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area and North America. This role may be based out of any of GHD’s offices throughout the GTA or Waterloo. Responsibilities Develop and execute new business development strategies; Provide technical leadership and client-oriented solutions related to public consultation, outreach and education, risk communication, crises communication, stakeholder engagement, outrage management, and virtual engagement; Provide strategic advice to clients on the topics of stakeholder engagement and communication strategies, risk analysis, and stakeholder management; and Manage the design and implementation of engagement and communication programs including workshop design and facilitation, strategic communications and virtual engagement needs. Skills, Competencies And Qualifications Minimum 15 years experience in stakeholder engagement, community consultation and strategic communications; Existing relationships with clients in the private and public sectors would be considered a strong asset; Established profile through participation in industry associations; Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, environmental planning, or a related discipline preferred; Experience delivering projects that meet client objectives, manage risk, and result in high quality deliverables within a client-defined schedule and budget; Experience in a consulting environment, having responsibility for meeting revenue targets and building a backlog of projects is preferred; and Experience in the resource, energy, industrial, transportation, waste, and water/wastewater market sectors considered an asset.
