Act as structural designer for small and medium sized projects, with intent to develop skills based on training and mentoring from senior engineers on staff Coordinate work with other disciplines including architectural, mechanical and electrical Select appropriate methods and techniques to obtain design solutions Work closely with other structural engineers on team and take direction from sr. staff Perform detailed structural design calculations both by hand (first principals) and by utilizing computer based software Work with CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables before submission to client Certify professional work Attend site visits related to pre-design information gathering, post-construction review, and structural condition assessments Prepare written reports based on the structural analysis of existing buildings and other structures Work within assigned project budgets and schedules


Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited university Minimum 4 years' experience in design using Canadian building codes and design standards (the majority of the experience should be in the consulting industry with buildings related projects) P.Eng. status or able to become registered Experience in building design and renovation projects; design in concrete, steel, wood and masonry; and performing building condition assessments an asset Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is a benefit Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to write technical reports under guidance from senior engineers Must be able to work in a team environment and excel in multi-disciplined projects
