Our client is a well-established and growing Tier 1 manufacturer with several plants operating in Windsor. They have a view to further acquisitions and expansion. Business is very good. Profitable, stable and ready to invest in new equipment and systems to facilitate current and future growth and development. This role will be a key new addition to the maintenance and tool shop team and will rotate 8 hour shifts every 2 weeks. Ample OT if desired. Great opportunity for growth. Job Requirements

Position Summary: Reporting to Die Maintenance Supervisor. Be able to use appropriate equipment to create and repair tooling. These duties are to be performed within quality and production standards

Position Responsibilities:

  • Use of various equipment/tools to create and repair tooling, including, but not limited to, grinders, welding equipment, machining equipment, overhead cranes, etc.
  • Support stamping operations and troubleshoot production problems.
  • Assist with New Model Group for new die build and program launches and die trials
  • Other duties as required
  • Qualifications:

  • Licensed Tool & Die Maker
  • Minimum 2 years previous work experience in a high volume, automated stamping environment.
  • Hands-on experience with various stamping operations, (e.g. transfer, progressive, blanking)
  • Proficient reading blueprints and sketches
  • EDM & CNC operating machine knowledge would be an asset
  • Familiarity with Japanese tooling would be an asset
  • Tryout and spotting experience a definite asset
  • must be able to work shift work
