You get in your truck and drive to work by a lake, and that reminds you that hunting season will start soon When you arrive at the copper concentrator, you organize the morning meeting with your team to restart the concentrator called the mill so that it will be operational within 2 years. Day is over, you take out your best clothes and go to a 5-7 with your colleagues on an outdoor terrace to breathe in the fresh air of the wild forest.
Our client, a major Canadian gold and copper mining company, has acquired a large portfolio of properties near Chibougamau to extract copper and gold while respecting nature and minimizing its environmental impact through innovative and state-of-the-art projects. They are currently looking for a superintendent who will put their experience to work to revive the former copper mill and manage a team of passionate professionals.
The tasks consist of:
Effectively managing the repair, maintenance and inspection of concentrator equipment according to the maintenance and restart program.
Being in charge of safety, production, quality and budgets.
Collaborating with senior managers, other superintendents and their first level supervisors.
Being responsible for workers, equipment, tools and materials.
Preparing and approving plans, delegating work to different teams, monitoring progress, resolving issues and taking corrective action as required.
Preparing budgets and monitoring expenditures.
Writing project production, safety and progress reports and sheets.
Leading and participating in meetings and briefings.
Recruiting, training and developing employees with the assistance of first level supervisors and human resources (HR) specialists).
Carrying out any other similar tasks.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a welder mechanic.
Diploma of Professional Studies in Industrial Mechanics and/or relevant experience.
Resourcefulness and initiative.
Independent in their work.
Available to work overtime.
Good communication and team spirit.
Ability to apply and comply with all applicable mine and Quebec procedures, standards, regulations and legislation.
