Who Are We Looking For?

The Northpine Foundation is looking for employee #2 As the Operations Lead, you will work with our CEO, Aatif, as you take responsibility for identifying and implementing operations. As a startup, you will effectively be bringing order to the chaos that is the growing organization while still giving the business room to breath and change.

That means we are looking for someone who is a builder: who sees the big picture while working on the details; who is organized but flexible, and who believes in the work we do. The ultimate anchor that centres your work is the voice of the community you are meant to serve.

Responsibilities



  • Assist in business strategy and brainstorming operational procedures, and most importantly, building it

  • Create and put in place structures in administration, finance, human resources, technology, and so much more.

  • Plan, manage and execute a wide range of activities in support of strategic planning, prospect and develop complex investment opportunities, grant management and external relationship management. Provide clear, concise and insightful analyses and recommendations for operations, including providing insights to leadership.

  • Design internal approval and portfolio review processes, ensuring appropriate documentation, grant budgeting and reporting.

  • Collaborate among team members to consult with grantees to design excellent organizational operations to achieve desired impact of grants. Conduct site visits when appropriate, provide technical guidance, convene meetings and apply and evaluate milestone-based performance objectives.

  • Hone a work culture and processes where others feel empowered to tackle uncertainty. Failure is an opportunity to learn, not a limitation. You will build this learning machine.

  • Once travel permitted, the role will require about 10% travel.
