We are looking for an Associate Manager, Delivery

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, or Winnipeg


As a trusted technology partner of Canada Life's Senior Product Leaders, the Associate Manager, Delivery will assist and ensure the project and activities are planned, budgeted, and executed in ways that meet the highest standards of governance and execution. The Associate Manager, Delivery will be a trusted expert with the ability to work across multiple technology scrum teams, interfacing different planning, implementation and release experts to ensure:

  • Delivery risks are identified and mitigated
  • Efficient and quality delivery
  • What you'll do

  • Demonstrate excellent understanding of product development lifecycle, and versed in agile delivery frameworks;
  • Assist the Director in driving collaboration across our brand and marketing, design and technology teams to drive digital solutions development in alignment with the Canada Life Digital Experience
  • Champion Digital Hub's biased toward buy-over-build, config-over-customize factory delivery model and advocate reuse of digital capabilities whenever possible.
  • Work closely with Senior Product Leaders to ensure the successful implementation of high priority initiatives throughout the entire development lifecycle.
  • Think strategically in managing scope, timelines and prioritization by collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners and technology teams to make trade-off decisions to drive business outcomes.
  • Develop a framework to anticipate delivery roadblocks such as technical complexity, resource conflicts, system, business process or change management dependencies and communicate accordingly to drive resolutions with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Digital Program Leads to understand our business partners' strategic priorities and provide delivery insight and learnings for future initiatives.
  • Work with Digital Hub leadership to evolve a reporting framework to consistent measure Digital Hub technology initiatives
  • What you'll bring

  • Extremely detail-oriented, excellent understanding of how technology products are delivered and able to anticipate future roadblocks and help mitigate delivery risks
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior leadership on the development and delivery of large-scale technical projects and transformation work, building plans and managing progress reporting which provide visibility of work in progress;
  • Track record of collaboration and influence when working in cross-functional teams, ability to resolve tensions, lead, and foster collaborative relationships, engage and inspire the right outcome through partnerships and mutual respect;
  • Structured and analytical planning approach; design appropriate work-back schedules to drive effective implementation;
  • Experience in risk assessment and management techniques
  • Understanding of insurance and financial services industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred
