Position Background:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Specialist to join our Power Services Team.

As part of the Ketek's Power Services team, the Project Specialist will promote and establish excellent relationships and use their area expert skills to assist with, or lead, certain aspects of a projects.

Project Specialist will organize, instruct, and ensure their portion of the project is completed within the required deadline and in a safe manner.

This position will also be the key technical expert for electrical modification and design on any Ketek or Client equipment.

Innovation and environmental sustainability are key.


CORE DUTIES:


  • Develop project requirements by reviewing project proposals and plans while conferring with management
  • Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards
  • Complete technical studies and preparing cost estimates
  • Adhere to Customer specifications and requirements
  • Assist in Electrical Work Package/drawing creation
  • Assist in Automation programming where required
  • Confirm product performance by designing and conducting tests
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with regulation
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Consult with businesses, governments, and special interest groups
  • Ensure ISO 9001 Quality Management System guidelines are met
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and Various Ketek divisions during the manufacturing process to ensure client specifications are met and products are delivered on schedule
  • Work with clients to find solutions to problems, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, or other technical advancements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


Required

  • Minimum 10 years' experience managing complex, technical projects
  • Strong Electrical Design and Control knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas, chemical, manufacturing, technology, and infrastructure and development projects
  • AutoCAD design knowledge is an asset
  • PLC Programming considered an asset
  • Fluent in the English language (reading, written, spoken)
  • Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills
  • Able to deal with the public in a positive, courteous, and respectful manner
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlines
  • Able to handle changing schedules and priorities, with highlevel prioritization skills
  • Strong work ethic and organizational planning skills with attention to detail

Preferred

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering ;or
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) ;or
  • Journeyman Electrician with design experience
  • Professional registration and membership based upon related discipline
  • Recognized technical expertise by the marketplace
  • Knowledge and familiarity with other prevailing codes and guidelines

WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Regularly required to stand/sit, talk/hear, use hands/fingers to operate a computer and telephone, stoop, and kneel
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens
  • Moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) may be required
  • Use of mechanical aids: overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, and dolly may be required

_Work Environment_

  • Office environment (90%), Field environment (10%)
  • May be required to travel to meetings and conferences
  • May be required to work weekends and outside of regular office hours
  • Pre-Access drug and alcohol testing may be required for Client site visits
