Deputy Head/Senior Business Manager supports, represents, and deputizes the Head of the Montreal Branch and takes specific responsibilities for managing the business in the Province of Quebec to generate business volume and related revenues.

The incumbent supervises staff from Montreal Branch and reports to the Head of the Montreal Branch.

Responsibilities:

Proactively seek new highvalue prospective clients locally. Build relationships with the Bank's existing and future clients and grow sustainable business volume and revenues from business relationships to meet the assigned quantitative and qualitative performance targets.
Initiate and present credit proposals to clients' credit facilities. Complete timely and indepth evaluations and analyses of financial, credit, regulatory, and operational risks for all credit facilities to ensure final approval is obtained within the given timeline.
Develop marketing strategies, provide business solutions to existing and potential clients, and promote the Banks' products and services.
Build and maintain a strong relationship with local banks, international banks, solicitors, and accountants to explore potential business opportunities.
Support the Head of the Montreal Branch in complying with all regulatory requirements, including antimoney laundering and antiterrorist financing.
Cooperate and collaborate with all frontline business teams and other internal partners for the execution of business operations.
Responsible for managing staff performance and development that fits the requirements of the business and operational demands.

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree or higher level of education in Finance, Accounting, business management, or relevant fields.
7+ years of work experience in corporate/commercial lending and the ability to analyze complex lending scenarios.
5+ years of relative working experience in the local financial institution, preferably in the area of underwriting, commercial /corporate banking, capital market, or credit risk control.
Proven marketing abilities and managerial abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
Ability to work under pressure to handle difficult situations and meet deadlines.
Selfmotivated with the ability to work independently under mínimal supervision.
