    We are currently seeking an experienced Sr. HR Advisor to join our Corporate HR team based out of our Toronto, Ontario downtown office. The Sr. HR Advisor will be responsible for providing guidance and support on all HR related matters to our Managers, Leaders and Staff related to a broad spectrum of Human Resources activities.

    The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a multi-site, matrix organization and within a dynamic, project-based environment.     Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership teams in various locations to execute human resources and talent strategies, providing HR support & guidance as it relates to strategic, tactical, and operational issues.
  • Act as the first point of contact to client groups in the delivery of corporate HR programs.
  • Support Managers in the workforce management of their teams working collaboratively with recruitment.
  • Advise, mentor and guide managers and employees on employee relations activities.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve employee issues, participating in investigations on misconduct and policy violation.
  • Work collaboratively with the HR Manager to develop, implement, and continuously improve programs that drive employee engagement and retention.
  • Support Managers with employee change events including transfers, secondments, promotions, compensation, leaves of absence, exits, etc. in collaboration with HR Generalist team.
  • Implement, support, and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and practices aligned with our culture and values to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ensuring alignment with employment standards
  • Act as a change agent to support critical business initiatives and support leaders in all elements of effective change management.
  • Contribute to identifying best practices to drive continuous improvement in HR strategies.
  • Collaborate with Training Coordinator in program development and implementation.
  • Support Managers with performance management, including Performance Improvement Plans, and disciplinary action.
  • Guide, support and document talent management initiatives with Managers including succession planning, development coaching, etc.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management or equivalent.
  • 10+ years Human Resources experience, with minimum 5 years in an HR Advisory/HR Business Partner capacity.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is required.
  • Previous experience within the Energy industry, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity.
  • Knowledge and practical application of employment standards and employment law in various provinces across Canada.
  • Ability to travel (within Canada) as required (5%-10%).
  • Experience supporting multiple client groups and ability to network across functional teams and build solid client relationships.
  • Sound problem solving and influencing skills, coupled with an ability to understand broad Human Resource issues and resolve conflict situations in a diplomatic manner.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and present findings in an understandable format.
  • Solid work ethic, takes initiative, a high respect for confidentiality, and sound professional judgment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required, advanced knowledge of HRIS and reporting systems, and experience within ERP systems.
