Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview:


Under the general supervision of the Manager and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of Diagnostic Services of Manitoba, the SECRETARY is responsible for: performing various secretarial duties related to the Laboratory Services, to include: typing/word processing, arranging meetings, attending meetings and recording minutes; assembling budget information and sending out computerized billings; maintaining weekly payroll cards, filing, photocopying, file management, document storing, assembling teaching materials; and performing other related duties as assigned.


Experience:


  • Two (2) years related secretarial experience, preferably in a heath care setting, OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • MS-Office including word processing experience.
  • Data entry experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Grade XII.
  • Successful completion of a recognized medical secretarial program.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Keyboard speed 55 wpm.
  • Dictatyping skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Operational knowledge of computers required. Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word) required.
