You'll be part of a team responsible for projects related to analyzing, developing and integrating new Enterprise, Building and Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) functionality.

Working within the IOT Team you'll help develop, update and modernize the existing functionality of our clients' energy infrastructure control systems to achieve current DERMS best practices.


TYPICAL DUTIES:


  • Assist in client site and fieldbased auditing of energy assets, equipment operation and performance, through the development of programs/protocols and integrations which can interface with the clients existing metering, equipment and building automation systems to improve their performance.
  • Develop, guide, write and maintain specification and programs for building automation systems and assist in the system design and specifications. Oversee installations as applicable
  • Develop and implement controller programming including system logic programming, database development, graphical user interfaces and organization of database backups.
  • Support the development of IOT architecture, server and communication networks for enterprise energy information and DERMS customer solutions.
  • Support the integration of an automated continuous commissioning capability for Blackstone's blackPAC solution that can perform AI and system analytics. Support planning for the development of an operations support centre that meets the needs and requirements of our clients as our deployment of DERMS product platform grows.
  • Create a functionality testing lab and live environment for integration of open protocol devices for gathering metering data and logging system temperatures and pressure information.
  • Ensure systems comply with local building codes, including green building or LEED certified sites
  • Support development of our BlackPAC EIS solution for monitoring, analysis, verification and reporting of energy performance initiatives via a graphical interface which will display results using data obtained directly from meter data, external web servers and other data information sources.
  • Communicate with other team members, subcontractors, staff and other employees.
  • Adhere to safety standards. Maintain the highest degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

REQUIREMENTS_:
_

  • Is pursuing or holds a degree/diploma in Computer Sciences, Electronics, Process Control, Robotics & Instrumentation, Energy Engineering or Engineering program.
  • Demonstrated 1+ years of experience working with Building Automation Systems with respect to system performance updates/upgrades, energy reduction initiatives, and preventive maintenance routines/calibrations, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and HMI programming Controls systems
  • Experience with system integration, troubleshooting, networking and software interfaces
  • Emphasis of PLC Programming, HVAC Controls Installation Troubleshooting & Human Machine Interface (HMI) Development, and Control Loop Tuning
  • Sound understanding of BAS Protocols like BACnet & Modbus.
  • Preferred skills of JavaScript, HTML and Axon Programming.
  • Skyspark or FIN Framework Experience /Certification Preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of ASHRAE Standards/Codes and recommendation practices
  • Proficient computer skills including energy related software, spreadsheets and databases
  • CAD experience an asset
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed team environment

Other Information:


  • Work activities are primarily located in Ontario with approximately 25% outofoffice travel to site for integration and commissioning if required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed team environment
  • This position will be Hybrid based where the 80% will be remote and 20% will be expected to be in office for team meets and collaborations.
